World Vision International Nepal seeks to fill the position of Project Manager based In Lalitpur, National Office for the proposed Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Japan-funded multi-year Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction Project, Nepal Implemented In Kailali and Achham districts of Nepal. Please note that the position is contingent upon funding and donor approval.
Position: Project Manager (1)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall technical leadership and management in the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Project Implementation.
- Responsible for the strong relationship and liaising with moFA Japan to meet its requirements in providing timely updates of the project progress/achievements Including financial status In the Japanese language and strengthening relationship and coordination with the Embassy of Japan.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:
- A master's degree in Disaster Risk Management, Environmental Science; or a degree In a relevant field with five years of professional experience In Implementing CBDRR, ORRM, and disaster resilient livelihood projects.
- Ability to work with host-country professionals, ministries, and with donor colleagues in the country.
- Practical knowledge of local disaster risk management planning process. Development of the legal documents related to DRAM, Early Warning System, climate resilient livelihood, and disaster resilient Infrastructure.
- Good media relations and advocacy skills especially with government stakeholders, MOFA Japan, Embassy of Japan. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Japanese.
- Strong experience and recognized expertise in models and methods of training, facilitation and capacity building, and organizational development for staff and communities
